James Edward Johnson, 42, died from a heart attack July 29, 2016.

He was born in Portland, Oregon, on his maternal grandmother’s birthday, March 8, 1974, and was her first grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leo and Betty Kleffner, father Alvin Johnson Jr. and uncle Robert Kleffner and aunt Janet Lucile Kleffner.

Surviving are his mother Kathleen Kleffner; sister, Katie Johnson (Chris); niece McKenna; and aunts and uncles: Mary Vail, John Kleffner, Paul Kleffner (Marvin), Lois Calamia (Michael), James Kleffner (Tammy), Ellen Kleffner, Mark Kleffner, Anne Schmidt (Tony), and Jerry Kleffner (John) and numerous cousins.

James was much loved by his family, and he loved them as well. James gave his time and talents generously. He took off work for a year and moved to Powell to help his uncle John ready his farm for sale.

James was an Eagle Scout and loved scouting, camping and fishing, family, friends, sports and ice cream. He was a giant teddy bear and kids said he gave “the best hugs.” At the time of his death he was working at O’Reilly Auto Parts, where he loved them and they loved him.

Services will be on Saturday, Aug. 13, at HeartLight Chapel, 11150 E Dartmouth Avenue (at S. Parker Rd) Aurora, Colorado. The Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m.
