Clara Zo Meier, known always as Zo, was born in Lewistown, Montana, June 25, 1942, to Albert Bailey and Shirley Hamilton (Ballance). She died in Lovell July 26, 2016, of a long term illness with family by her side. She was 74.

After the passing of her husband, Edd, in September 2014, her family noticed that Zo was having a difficult time swallowing food. She was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. She went through treatment and became cancer free once again, beating cancer for the third time. Though her treatment was rough, she remained strong and was always positive. She was recently in the New Horizon’s Care Center doing physical therapy to build her strength back up.

Zo grew up and graduated in Belfry, Montana. She worked at Northwest Community College in Powell as well as the elementary and high school cafeterias. She was also a school bus route driver for many years for the Powell area and took on many other various jobs as well as a housewife.

In 1976, Zo married Edd, each bringing four children to the union, creating a family of 10. She enjoyed many things; some of the things she loved were camping, boating, snowmobiling, bowling, and she was an excellent seamstress. The true joy of her life was being with her family and visiting with the grandkids. She especially loved the holidays when all the family got together; she would work hard preparing everything and made sure every detail was covered to make it as special as she could.

Zo is survived by three siblings: Lavern Silva, Art Bailey, Jerry Bailey, Vera (Joe) Babin, and Billie Lou (Jim) Philip. Her surviving children include: Steve (Meadow) Scheeler, Debra (Brent) Hibbert, Todd (Julie) Scheeler, Leanne (Mark) Cozzens, whom she cared for as her own daughter, Steve (Cindy) Meier, Shannon (Maggie) Meier, Randy Meier, and Christy (Steve) Banks. There are 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Zo was preceded in death by her parents; husband Edd, and daughter Toreasa, who died at age 10 after complications from a kidney transplant.

Funeral services for Zo will be held at later date.
