Wyatt Eugene Wambeke was born May 22, 2016, to the proud parents Kendal and Angie Wambeke.

Wyatt was a warrior and an inspiration to so many lives. He was a fighter even before he was born. He was diagnosed in utero at 25 weeks with Severe AVSD and Tricuspid Valve Regurgitation and the only “fix” would be a heart transplant.

Due to his complicated heart, he was born at Denver Children’s Hospital and taken to the Cardiac ICU where he was taken care of by the intelligent and compassionate staff. While waiting for a heart transplant, Wyatt made sure the rules or “normal” didn’t apply to him; he kept the doctors and his parents on their toes and in awe of the strength inside of his little body.

Hayden and Dalan are proud big brothers of “the Wy-man” as they called him, and Penelope is the big sister of her “Baby Wyatt.” The time his loved ones had with him made a difference in so many lives in so many ways. He was a joy to all in the CICU as well as his extended family and friends who were unable to meet him before he returned to heaven.

It was because of his warrior spirit and the support of the great staff at the CICU that he had the chance to touch so many lives. He loved bathing in the heat of his bed, loved sticking out his tongue, loved being cuddled and swaddled as well as winning over the hearts of his nurses taking care of him.

On June 13, 2016, after 22 days of life, complications mounted and Wyatt’s battle came to an end. He will be missed and remembered forever.

Wyatt is survived by his parents Kendal and Angie; brothers Hayden and Dalan; sister Penelope; grandparents Paul and Troy Wambeke of Cowley, Robert and Renee Wilkerson of Powell, great-grandpa Francis Wambeke of Deaver and great-grandma Sherron Muller of Billings, great-grandma Ruth Schreiber of Glenrock and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, at St. Barbara’s Church. Following the church service, burial will be at the Deaver Cemetery. A reception at Deaver Town Hall will follow.

Thompson Funeral Home is assisting the family and condolences may be sent to the family at www.thompsonfuneral.net or P.O. Box 807, Powell, WY 82435.
