Debra Kathryn Hart, 62, died Saturday, June 11, 2016, at North Big Horn Hospital in Lovell after a 30-year battle with diabetes.

Debra was born June 1, 1954, in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Ronald and Patsy Walton, and the family then moved to Shreveport, Louisiana.

Through her father’s work as a geophysicist, Deb, her mother, along with Deb’s best friend and sister, Karen, flew overseas to be with him. Over the next several years the Walton family lived in Libya, Egypt, Australia, and finally Italy, where Debra graduated high school.

Upon returning to the states, Deb attended Northwest College, where she met and married the man she would spend the rest of her life with, Frank Hart. From this marriage, three sons were born: Orion, Ron and Skip. Although Debra completed her associate degree, her heart was at home with her children. She spent much of her time with the support group TOPS, where she achieved state queen for her weight loss.

Deb left a myriad of memories with her family, friends and neighbors. Her wit was dry and if you weren’t paying attention, you would miss it. She had an undying conviction for the Lord and an unwavering smile accompanied by a relentless faith in which she knew no matter the odds, everything would be all right. Despite her small stature, she had a heart of a lion and the strength of an ox, but with a delicacy not unlike one of her favorite flowers, the African violet. Debra’s carefree spirit made her an ideal companion for adventures, while her love of people made her a prime candidate for late-night chats. She left an imprint on those who knew her and her absence will be greatly felt. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness.

Debra is survived by her husband Frank; sons Orion Hart, Ron Hart, Skip (Emily) Hart; her sister Karen (Larry) Johnson; and grandson Karsten Hart.

Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 18 at the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church.

Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and condolences may be sent to the family at www.thompsonfuneral.net or P.O. Box 807, Powell, WY 82435.
