Wesley Vernon ‘Wesser’ Vaught

Wesley Vernon “Wesser” Vaught, 79, of Cody died April 3, 2016.

He was born Aug. 4, 1936, in Powell to Vernon Hill Vaught and Helen Coorough Vaught. An only child, he grew up in Powell.

Wesley enlisted in the Navy on Jan. 16, 1953, and received an honorable discharge from the Armed Services of the United States Navy on July 7, 1962.

He made his home in Cody. Wesley married Ruby on July 5, 1977.

He worked for Superior Machine Shop in Powell for 42 years, retiring in 2010.

Wesley enjoyed his trips to Christina Lake every Labor Day weekend for 50 years. He loved fishing and camping trips. He belonged to the Eagles and Elks Clubs, and he was a benefactor to the Buffalo Bill Center of the West.

He was an avid balloonist with Jack and Pink Way. He enjoyed belonging to several dart clubs and his four-wheeling trips.

Wesley is survived by his wife Ruby Vaught of Cody; daughter Penny Vaught of Riverton; Rick Larson and Rhonda Guthrie of Powell; Lonny and Gale Larson of Cody, Melvin Larson of North Dakota, Keith and Julie Dial, Steven Vaught, John Vaught; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

Wesley will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at the Clark Cemetery.

Memorial donations can be made to the Spirit Mountain Hospice House in Cody.
