Caryl Ann Winterholler, 82, of Cody, died peacefully at her home in Cody on Dec. 1, 2015.

Caryl was born Sept. 21, 1933, in Worland to J.R. (Jeff) and Ruby McKibbin. She spent her early years in Worland where she graduated from high school and then attended Black Hills State and the University of Wyoming.

She married Harold (Hal) Winterholler in 1955 in Worland and they moved to Missoula while Hal finished college. After a few years in Montana and Washington, they moved to Cody in 1959 and raised three children.

Caryl was a very compassionate, happy, caring, and giving person with a sparkling personality. She had a positive outlook, no matter what. Caryl made everyone smile and any room was brighter with her there. She saw the best in everyone and never put herself first.

During her years in Cody, she was a member of the Newcomers Club, PEO, and numerous bridge clubs. She also worked as a teacher’s aide for several years at the Wapiti, Westside and Livingston Elementary schools.

Her favorite pastimes were reading, playing card games, shopping, movies, visiting her long-distance family, collecting red, white, and blue memorabilia, and enjoying coffee with the girls.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jeff and Ruby McKibbin.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Hal; sister, Bonnie Donnell (McKibbin); children Kirk (and Terry), Kelly (Dye) of Cody, Kyle (Saniga) of Savannah, Georgia; and grandchildren Ryan White, Dakota Phillips, Lauren and Logan Winterholler, Bailey Daley; and great-grandchildren Madison Daley, Xander White and Gadsden Daley.

Memorial donations can be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation or The Wounded Warrior Project.

Services were held Monday, Dec. 7, in Cody.
