Robert Dale Wood died Sept. 11, 2015, at the age of 53.
He was born in Cortez, Colorado, on Feb. 28, 1962, the second of five children born to Robert Thornton Wood and Marita Inez Thibodeau Wood.
Throughout his life those who knew Bob know he was extended many invitations to return home to heaven and always found a reason to refuse the offer. On Sept. 11, 2015, he finally accepted his invitation to go home.
He was welcomed home by both his parents as well as his older brother William Pearly Wood and his younger brother and lifelong best friend David Glen Wood.
Although his loved ones are mourning the loss of his smile and his vast knowledge of all things rock and roll, they are all comforted by the fact that he is once again able to sing and dance with some of the greats.
Bob never had any children of his own, but he was a huge influence in the lives of all his nieces and nephews, who are way too numerous to name.
His memory will continue through his immediate family, which includes his younger brother Darin (Crystal) Wood of Powell and his sister Alta (Denton) Davis, also of Powell. He will also live on in the memory of all his extended family which includes cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews across three states.
A celebration of his life will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Crown Hill Cemetery in Powell.
