Paul William Fink

Paul William Fink, 72, of Bon Aqua, Tennessee, died on May 15, 2015, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee. 

He was born on Oct. 17, 1942 in Lovell, and attended school and graduated from high school in Byron. 

After graduation, he worked for the Great Western Sugar Plant in Lovell, before marrying in 1964 and having three sons. 

Moving to Greybull, he began his career with the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1971, primarily working in the Big Horn Basin, Wind River Canyon and Shoshoni areas.

He later moved with his family to Powell, then Shoshoni, where he ultimately made his home. 

Paul retired in 2000 from the railroad, but continued to serve his community as a crossing guard and as a snow removal contractor until his health declined.

He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church. He enjoyed playing basketball, gardening, traveling with and to see family and friends and was an avid Denver Broncos football fan.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann (Waggoner) Fink; parents, John D. Fink, Jr. and Dorothea (Miller) Fink; brother, Daniel (Phyllis); and two sisters, Marie Louise Shawley and Linda Sachau. 

He is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law: John Paul and Cynthia of Bon Aqua, Tennessee, Melvin Deo of Shoshoni and David Harrison, whose mother, Gerry Fink, also resides in Powell; four grandchildren: John, Logan, J. D., and Allison and “adopted” grandchild Justin Jefferson; three brothers, Albert (LeRoyce) of Denver, Edwin of Evansville, and Butch of Lovell; two sisters, Lillian Hettinger of Lovell and Hermina Hess of Gillette; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, at the home of John and Cindy Fink in Bon Aqua, Tennessee. A more formal memorial service will follow on Aug. 15 in Riverton.
