Linda Josephine Alberta, 74, of Clark, died peacefully Feb. 3, 2015, in Cody.

Linda was born on Oct. 6, 1940 in Columbus, Mont., to Edward and Jean Bolin.

She graduated from Absarokee High School in 1958, and earned an education degree from Eastern Montana College. She first taught in a one-room school house in Hogan, Mont., and then briefly in Livingston, Mont.

She met and married the love of her life Richard Alberta, himself a teacher, on Jan. 19, 1963. They began a beautiful 52-year journey together.

After moving to Cowley, Linda cared for their children while Rich taught.

In 1969 they moved to Fromberg, Mont., where both taught until 1992.

Linda was a dedicated and accomplished teacher and loved all her students. She also taught in the summer migrant program from 1970-2014.

After retirement, Linda ran multiple businesses in Fromberg — a clothing store, café and a ceramics shop.

In 2000, the couple moved to Clark and was embraced by a beautiful community filled with loving and caring people.

She was dedicated to Christ and church. In Clark she was the vacation Bible school director, a choir member and did children’s stories at the Bennett Creek Baptist Church. She also served in Bible Study Fellowship in Cody and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 52 years Richard Alberta; son Jeff (Kris) Alberta of Helena and his family Alex and Jacob residing in Helena, Cassidy Alberta of Billings and Jeremy Alberta of Seattle; son Scott (Jenny) Alberta and his family Isabel, Olivia and Gage of Plymouth, Mass.
