Loyal Verne Dodd died Feb. 7, 2015. He was 80.

He was a devoted Pentecostal Christian, a church-building missionary to Mexico, soul winner, loving father, husband, brother and Korean War Air Force veteran.

He was born Aug. 8, 1933, to Lloyd and Ethel Dodd in Thayer, Kan.

Loyal enlisted in the Air Force at the age of 16 and served his country proudly in the U.S. and England. Later, he was a successful ironworker and business man, owning and operating one of the largest steel erection companies in Chicago through the 1990s.

He later retired to the Lovell area, owning and operating the 700-acre Beaver Flats farm with his family. In 2006 he moved to South Carolina to provide comfort and support to his ailing pastor and returned to Wyoming after his pastor’s passing in 2011.

Loyal is survived by his beautiful and caring wife Pamela; his two devoted sons, Loyal Jr. and wife Cindy of Clover, S.C., and David and wife Gerri of Clover, S.C.; and daughter Dawn and husband Ivan of Lovell. Loyal and Pam also had five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

His siblings include his beloved brother Ted and Lillian Dodd of Lovell, brother Ron Harned (deceased), Lee and LeaAnn Harned of Arizona, Billie Jo and Jack Ruddel of Arizona, Joy and Keith Ledbetter of Colorado, and loving sister Debbie and Pete Parent of California.

Loyal was loved and will be truly missed, but his family knows they will be with him again in glory and that Jesus is preparing a place for them now.

Funeral services were Monday Feb. 9, at the New Life Church in Powell. Burial was in the Crown Hill Cemetery. Thompson Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
