Patsy A. ‘Pat’ (Payne) Faust

Patsy A. “Pat” (Payne) Faust, 85, of Saratoga, died on Dec. 24, 2014, from damaging results of several strokes.

Pat was born in Waco, Neb., on Feb. 12, 1929, to Nelson and Anna (Bouchard) Parrish. Pat graduated from Riverton High School.

She married William L. Payne on Oct. 21, 1946; they had four children. Bill and Pat were married for 36 years before Bill passed. 

She married Edward C. Faust March 3, 1992, who left this world in April 2012.

After her marriage to Ed, they moved to Powell and then to Lovell. After Ed passed, Pat moved back to Saratoga.

Pat worked as a bookkeeper, town clerk and spent 25 years working at the Forest Service.

She enjoyed spending time with family as well as being in the mountains. Pat went with all of her children to school, church and 4-H events, sharing the fun and learning. She also enjoyed making jewelry.

Pat truly enjoyed visiting with people. Pat was a parishioner of Foot Hill Baptist Church in Encampment.

Pat was a wonderful and gracious lady who will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leland Parrish and Nelson Parrish; both husbands, Bill Payne and Ed Faust; brother-in-law, Charles Robert Payne; and daughter, Linda (Payne) Pederssen.

Pat is survived by three of her children, Fran Payne-Rogers (Joe Irene) of Saratoga, Billie Jo (Steve) Fredericks of Schenectady, N.Y., and Bill Payne of East Prairie, Mo.; four step-children, Eddie Faust, Steve Faust, John Faust and Elise Faust; three grandchildren, Stephanie Fredericks of Schenectady, N.Y., Bobby (Kimmie) Fredericks, USMC, Md., and Will Pederssen of Saratoga; three remaining cousins; and six nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 7, at the Valley Chapel in Saratoga. Interment will follow in the Saratoga Cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 6, between 5-7 p.m. at the Valley Chapel.
