Lois T. (Toothaker) Snyder died on Nov. 7, 2014.

Lois Pearl Toothaker was the child of Ira Toothaker (1876-1956) and Edith Statton Toothaker (1889-1967). She was born Dec. 6, 1925, and raised on the family farm in Belfry, Mont. She had two half-brothers and three half-sisters: George Toothaker, Glen Barnum, Elsie Reich, Helen Toothaker and Ruth Elliot. She has one living sister, Myrtie Beattie, of Sun City, Calif.

She married the love of her life on July 25, 1943, and together they worked the family farm in Belfry, Mont., from 1945-64. The farm was leased out from 1964 until they sold it in 2006 and moved to Billings, Mont.

She knew the value of hard work, yet balanced those efforts with family. She retired from the Belfry Post Office after working for many years as a clerk and the postmaster in order to spend more time with her husband and family. She loved spending time working on her flowers and in the large vegetable garden that her husband raised to share with everyone.

Lois lived a full life with her sweetheart, Allen. She was an example of true love and devotion. They were couple so united that it is difficult to think of them separately. Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and support to many. She cared for and served others in many capacities.

Lois was full of spunk — she was fun and all enjoyed the hours of golfing, fishing, walking to the end of the ranch, playing cards and eating. She was loved without measure, and she will be missed.

Lois is also survived by her son Thomas Snyder (Karen), daughter Bonnie Brown (Bob), grandchildren Denise Bock (Mitch), Bill Brown (Jackie), Michelle Croft (Rob), Cole Snyder (Natalie), 12 great-grandchildren Cheyenne Brown, Sage Brown, Cole Brown, Sheridan Brown, Ashley Bock, Ryan Croft (Rhonda), Ethan Croft (Bekah), Krystina Croft, Eric Snyder, Isabel Snyder, and Zachery Snyder; and one great-great-grandchild, Quinn Croft.

At her request, her body has been cremated and services will take place at a later time.

Balllard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
