Nona Belle Allen of Powell died Oct. 14, 2014, at Billings Clinic. She was 85.

She was born March 21, 1929, in Bearcreek, Mont., to Rozetta Johnson and William West.

Nona married Lonnie G. Hartung in Cody, who served in the U.S. Army and worked in the oil field for Texaco. The couple had two children, John and Gina “Micah.”

She later married Myron Willard Allen, who served in the U.S. Navy and was a mechanic for Marathon Oil.

Nona loved fishing, riding horses, painting, sewing, crafts, painting on leather, nature, gardening and animals.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and enjoyed church activities. She was a member of the National Appaloosa Horse Club, Eagles, Ralston Club and Homesteader Museum.

Nona was preceded in death by her parents, William and Rozetta West; son John Hartung; husband Lonnie G. Hartung; husband Myron Willard Allen; brother Bob West; brother-in-law Riley Dedman and brother-in-law Eugene Geary.

Nona is survived by her daughter Gina “Micah” Hartung of Belt, Mont., (Irene Crawford of Great Falls, Mont.); daughter-in-law Tracy Ratcliff-Hartung of California; sisters Arlene Dedman and Marilyn McDonnell; nephew Allen Dedman; and nieces Cheryl Wilson, Peggy Dedman, Lorna Wheeler and Merna Maas.

Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 20, at Union Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Jeff Baxter officiating. Nona was buried in the family plot at Crown Hill Cemetery between her two husbands.

Memorial donations in Nona’s name can be sent to Micah Hartung, 23 Castner St., Belt, MT 59412, and will be donated to several of Nona’s favorite charities.

Nona’s family would like to thank all of the folks who made her life better. Thank you to friends in Powell and Cody and the Union Presbyterian Church, and the youth group and adults who helped her move. Thanks to the now “Golden Girls” Kay, Ruth and Charolette, who were longtime friends. Thank you to Bob Lebruska, who watched out for the family after Lonnie died. Thanks to beloved friends Hope Streeter and Dixie Olsen and St. John Lutheran Ministries, as well as Langemo Cottage, Vicky and staff. Thank you to Lisa and Tiffany, for helping to keep vigil during Nona’s last day. And thank you to the coffee group that started at the Skyline Cafe and is now at McDonald’s.
