Glenna ‘Darlene’ Munson

Glenna “Darlene” Munson died Sept. 18, 2014. She was 76.

She was born in Saratoga on July 20, 1938, to Bill and Nora Knotwell. She grew up in Encampment and graduated with honors from Encampment. 

She moved to Riverton where she met the man of her dreams, Donald Munson, and was married June 7, 1957. They moved to Cody in 1962 and stayed there.

They had three children, Donald “Tracy” (Tina) Munson, Debby Munson and Danette (Billy) Johnsey. Darlene had 11 grandchildren, Jean Richards, Chris Richards, Ryan Stevens, Justin (Aleshia) Entz, Mandy (Justin) Gerlach, Katy (Chris) Dunks and Jesse (Rachel) Johnsey. She also had eight great-grandchildren and two on the way.

Darlene operated Munson’s Upholstery for almost 40 years. Upon retirement, she and Don sold their home and bought a camper to live in so they could travel. Darlene loved being outdoors, rock hunting, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, picnicking and gardening. She also loved knitting and making Swedish afghans for family and friends. 

Darlene was always one to try to make you smile. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband Don, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister Bonnie (Harold) Roth of Columbus, Mont., niece Tammy (Blaine) Weston of Billings, nephew Troy (Tracey) Graham of Raeford, N.C., along with three great-nieces, Shelby, Halie and Ashley.

Cremation has already taken place and no services are planned at this time.
