Hudson Robert Moore

(Nov. 2, 2007 - Aug. 3, 2014)

Six-year-old Hudson Robert Moore of Laramie died in a boating accident on Keyhole Reservoir Aug. 3.

His family is consoled in the belief that he was granted his angel wings to be with the Lord.

He was born Nov. 2, 2007, in Laramie to Shaun and Mandy Moore. When he was only 22 months old, he spent 10 days in the Denver Children’s Hospital fighting for his life from a ruptured appendix.  Almost a year later he was back at Children’s Hospital and needed surgery due to an abscess.  God was merciful and blessed Hudson’s family with a few more precious years with their special boy.

Hudson touched many people throughout his short, memorable life. Everyone he touched understood the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.

As his brother Aiden has said many times (he was 5 when Hudson was born), he had to wait a long time for a brother!  Because of that they were inseparable. They were best friends.

His exuberant and “go get ’em” personality made everyone smile. He was a very expressive child so you always knew what he was feeling. He brought so much joy to his family and will always be affectionately remembered by his nickname of “Hudder Butter.”

He is survived by his father Shaun and his mother Mandy and brother and best buddy Aiden of Laramie; great-grandfather Grady Ivy of Powell; maternal grandparents Joe and Lynn Kinnan of Torrington; paternal grandparents Robert and Shelly Moore of Powell and Becky Ivy of Denver; uncles Casey Kinnan of Pine Haven, Wyo., and Bill Harris of Lingle; uncle Robert and aunt Cortney Moore of Denver; uncle Duke and aunt Heidi Cooley of Denver; aunt Jillian Moore of Denver; and aunt Whitney Westgaard of Denver,

He will be forever missed, but not forgotten.

Services will be Friday, Aug. 8, at 11 a.m. at the Laramie Valley Chapel. A viewing will be held before the service from 10-11 a.m.

For those who wish, the family would appreciate memorial donations in Hudson’s memory to the Denver Children’s Hospital of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus. 13123 E. 16th Ave., Aurora, CO 80045.
