Rosa Hutzenbiler Devier

Rosa Devier, formerly of Powell, died at her home near Dalton, Neb., on July 6, 2014. She was 78.

She was born at home on July 4, 1936, south of the Clarks Fork River near Bridger, Mont., daughter of Louis and Monica (Zentner) Hutzenbiler.

Rosa was very active in her Catholic faith. She served as a federated flower show judge, a garden club member and was a charter member of Gold Wing Road Riders Association of Scottsbluff, Neb. Rosa also was an accomplished hand quilter.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Devier, whom she married in Dalton, Neb., their two sons, Lonnie (Betsy) and Rodney (Robin); daughter Rhonda Zugmeier (Joe); and grandchildren Christian, Anthony, Nicholas, Riley, Rhegan, Ashley and Andrew.

Rosa is also survived by three sisters, Betty (Harold) Kersting of Powell; Carol (Bob) Greenwood of Pennsylvania, and Marie (Bob) Rankin of Oklahoma; three brothers, Floyd (Betty) of Maryland; LeRoy (Andrea) of Massachusetts, Richard (Clare) of Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Willa of Colorado, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Robert (Willa).

A funeral service was held on July 10 in Dalton, Neb., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Dalton.
