Marcia Leigh (Howard) Courtade

Marcia Leigh (Howard) Courtade, 62, formerly of Clark, died peacefully May 1, 2014, at the home of her son in Cody, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Minneapolis, Minn., on July 26, 1951, to Bud and Joanne Oler. She has two siblings Jill Oler McAfee and Mark Oler.

In 1972 she married Rodger D. Howard Sr. in a little chapel in Montana. They had three children together: Rodger Jr., Amy, and Cole.

Rodger died in 2002 in Cody. Marcia later married Timothy Courtade on Feb. 18, 2006. They shared an active life together in Riverton before they purchased Edelweiss Saloon in Clark in 2012.

Marcia attended high school in Platte City, Mo., and graduated in 1969. She continued her education at Hutchinson Community College School of Nursing. While she had experience in a wide range of nursing fields from birthing babies to trauma, her passion was caring for patients with cancer. She is credited with helping to launch the cancer centers in Cody and Riverton.

Marcia loved spending time outdoors. Her hobbies were boating, fishing, camping and spending time with her family and friends.

She is very loved and she will be missed until her loved ones meet again in heaven.

Marcia is survived by her husband Tim Courtade, of Clark; sons Cole and Rod, of Cody; daughter Amy, of Liberty, Mo.; brother Mark and sister Jill of Texas; daughters-in-law Rachel and Sadie; son-in-law Justin; grandchildren Myles, Destiny, Mylea, Bayleigh, Discovery, Delana, Cole Jr., Jordan, Conner and Mason; several stepchildren and stepgrandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held at Harvest Church, 1601 Stampede Ave., in Cody at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 8.
