Suzanne Roberts Schaub, 79, died peacefully in her sleep April 1, 2014.

Sue moved to Cody a year and a half ago from Auburn Hills, Mich., where she lived for over 40 years, to be close to her daughter.

Sue was born May 10, 1934, to Charles Angelo Roberts and Louise Adelaide Roberts in Bethlehem, Pa. She graduated from Liberty High and went on to Beaver College in Jenkinstown, Pa. She met her future husband, David W. Schaub Sr., at a school dance. Together they had three children, twins Deborah and David, followed by Daniel. They later divorced.

Sue enjoyed any chance she got to be out in nature and birdwatching. She was an avid lifelong birdwatcher with a life bird list of over 400 birds. She shared her love of nature and birds with her own children as well as hundreds of others as a teacher, first teaching at Cranbrook Nature Center then for many years at the Bower’s School Farm and Nature Center, where she retired.

Sue is survived by her children Debbee Keener of Cody, David Schaub Jr. of Durham, Conn., and Daniel Schaub of Vail, Colo.; numerous grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; by her older sister Nancy Martin of Binghamton, N.Y., and her dear friend Betty in Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents and younger sister Jane Mann.

Memorial donations may be made to the Detroit Zoo or your local animal shelter.

Ballard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
