Myra Jean Schmidt Riley, 74, of Ralston, died on March 16, 2014, at Spirit Mountain Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Feb. 7, 1940, in Lakin, Kan., to Leslie Schmidt Sr. and Artina Kraft.

Myra married Tom Riley in 1958 and they made their home in Cody. Later, they moved to Ralston. Tom and Myra had three daughters: Debbie, Pam and Cheri and granddaughter Kristen.

Tom and Myra worked in road construction for many years. After retiring, Myra went to work for Business Plus Bookkeeping. She worked there for her daughter Debbie and really enjoyed working with computers for the last six years.

Her biggest enjoyment was having family dinners and having family around. Her hobbies were crocheting, gardening, and working in her flower beds. She always looked forward to her lunch dates with Tom and their granddaughter Kristen.

Myra is survived by her husband of 56 years, Tom; children Deb (Monte) Horst, Pam (Wayne) McClaflin, Chery Riley (Craig); grandchildren Justin (Stephanie) Braten, Travis (Sara) Braten, Kristen Riley (Coulton); sister Cathy Rankin, and many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
