Bonnie Dale Rathie, loving wife, sister, aunt, mom and grandma, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, of complications from long-term illness, with her husband by her side. She was 67.

Bonnie was born Nov. 20, 1946, in Hamilton, Mont., to Dale and Betty Patterson. She attended grade school in Grantsdale, Mont., and graduated from Hamilton High School. On Oct. 11, 1970, she met her husband Toby Rathie Jr., while waiting tables at a Chinese restaurant. They were married June 26, 1971.

In 1976, Toby’s job transferred them to Thermopolis, then to Powell in 1979, where she lived until the time of her passing. In her life Bonnie worked many jobs including at a car dealership, in potato fields and apple orchards, waiting tables, and also running the shoe department at the Powell Pamida. She truly loved her Seattle Seahawks and was very excited when they won the Super Bowl this year. Bonnie’s favorite pastime was watching her children and grandchildren participate in sports and activities.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her mother Betty, her father Dale, sister Janet Patterson, and her daughter, Deb Rathie.

She is survived by her husband Toby Rathie Jr. of Powell; daughter Brandy Zupko of Powell; Rich Rathie (Stephanie Lawson) of Grantsdale; special friend who was like a daughter, Holly Perry of Corvallis; sister Renie Patterson of Grantsdale. She is also survived by niece Terri Patterson and Gary Whisenant, six grandchildren: Matthew Rathie, Skye Rathie, Victoria Zupko (Jacob Adey), Chase Rathie, Colton Rathie and Rayona Rathie; three great-grandchildren, two on the way, and many in-laws in Montana.
