Josh attended the Art Institute of Colorado, majoring in culinary arts and though he chose not to make a career in the food industry, he enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. Josh’s hobbies included a love of hunting, fishing and anything that kept him outdoors. He also took after his Grandpa Kahler by becoming an excellent poker player.

He was always willing to lend a hand to others in need and was well-known for his sense of humor and kind heart. Josh will be missed very much by everyone who knew him.

Josh is survived by his mother Barbara (Kahler) Whitfield and stepfather John Porras of Alliance, Neb. Also mourning his loss are his sister Heather (Campbell) and her spouse Tom Sterner, their children Tristen, Deven and Eden Sterner of Arvada, Colo.; sister Michelle Hopkins and her spouse Matt Bright, their son Eric Hopkins of Boston, Mass.; brother Peter Campbell of Denver, step-grandparents Juan and Anita Porras of Chadron, Neb., his godparents Glen and Julie (Hofeldt) Kahler of Colome, S.D., and an untold number of extended family and friends.
