Longtime Frannie resident Barbara Phillips died on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014.

She was a spitfire mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, neighbor and too many other things to name. She is gone, but never forgotten by the many who she touched through the 86 years of her life.

Barbara was born Dec. 2, 1927, in Frannie.

She was a historian, businesswoman, politician, motivator, artist, organizer, and the list goes on. She lived a blessed life, always doing whatever she could to make life better for her family, her community and her church.

To the very end, her thoughts were of the well being and safety of those she loved. It is her wish that her family waits until spring to take her home. She wanted no one traveling in the weather that we have been having this year.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Phillips, brothers Don and Dale Weaver and their spouses, as well as  parents Paul and Mary Weaver and beloved pets Smudge, Lobo and Neko.

Her loved ones will miss her ever-present guidance, humor and wit. She was so many things to so many people. She is survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and -nephews, scattered across the country. You all know who you are and how very much she loved you all.

People of Frannie and Deaver and of her Methodist Church in Deaver were all so very special to her.

Remember Barbara when you see a flower, a wild animal or something she had her hands in around the towns and church. Hear her voice in your favorite memories of her. And most of all, remember her with love and happiness in your hearts.

Should you so desire, please give any memorials to the United Methodist Church in Deaver in her name.
