Linda Joy Albers, 73, died on Feb. 4, 2014, at home with her family by her side. She had suffered a long battle with dementia.

Linda was born on Jan. 5, 1941, to Edna and WA Lynn in Garland, Texas.

She married her sweetheart Alvin Albers on Oct. 17, 1964. They lived in the Dallas and Houston, Texas, areas for more than 40 years.

She came to live with her daughter Amy Tarbett in Cody in September 2009, where Amy helped take care of her and Alvin. Linda and Alvin had a wonderful time in Cody and made many new friends at the Senior Center.

Linda was a teacher who received her business education teaching degree from TWU (Texas Woman’s University) in Dayton, Texas. 

She is survived by her three daughters, Angela (Richard) Tevebaugh, of Houston, Amy (Randy) Tarbett of Cody and Annmarie Albers of Houston. She had nine grandchildren: Ryan and Ashley Tevebaugh of Houston and Stephanie, Kelly, Brooke, Tonya, Cody, Dylan, and Lilly Tarbett of Cody. She is also survived by her sister Nita Ann Ellis of Blanco, Texas.

Graveside services will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Cody at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, with Fr. Vernon Clark officiating.
