Clifton Eugene Taylor, 82, died Thursday, Dec. 26, at his home south of Powell.

He was born April 8, 1931, in Basin to Odus and Ethyl (Shaw) Taylor. Following high school graduation, he attended Union College in Lincoln, Neb., for two years. 

On Feb. 14, 1954, he married Edith Mae Taylor in Lincoln. Following their marriage, they moved to Wyoming, settling in Basin, and then moved to the Powell area in 1959. He was a lifelong member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and loved farming and working in his auto repair shop, Cliff's Repair. He was a member of the High Country Classic Car Club. 

Survivors include two sons, Robert (Sherry) Taylor of Healdsburg, Calif., and Larry Taylor of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter, LaVonna (Terry) McClannahan of West Des Moines, Iowa; six grandchildren; and a brother, Delmar (Bernadine) Taylor of Basin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Edith; two sons, Ernie, who died in 1974 and Duane, who died in 2010; two brothers, Leonard Taylor and Duane Taylor; and one sister, LaVonna Taylor.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Powell.

Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Powell.
