Anna M. Herman, 71, died Dec. 3, 2013, in Cody with her family by her side after a short, courageous battle with cancer.

Anna was born in Karby, Denmark, on Nov. 6, 1942, to Pete and Kate Nielsen. When Anna was 9, her family moved to the United States and ended up settling in Worland.

It was here that she met the love of her life, Carl, and together they raised five children.

Anna had many passions in her life. Her family always first, and she enjoyed playing bingo, traveling, bowling, crafting and work.

She enjoyed being around people, was always lending a hand or helping out all who needed it.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Albert.

Anna is survived by her husband Carl of 49 years; brothers Niels (Kay) and David (Patty); sons Richard (Roxanne), Daniel, Dale (Roxanne), Dale Hobby (Lisa) and daughter Kathy (James); grandchildren Rikki (Nick), Rochelle (Chad), Christopher (Corinna), Randi (Jake), Zachary, Emily and Olivia; and seven great-grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at Ballard Funeral Home in Cody.
