Bryson Wayne Herdt, son of Barry and Tawnya Herdt, died unexpectedly Dec. 6, 2013, in Powell. He was 25.

Bryson was born Dec. 8, 1987, in Casper. He attended Powell public schools and graduated in 2006. Bryson went on to attend MSU Northern in Havre, Mont., and Northwest College in Powell.

Bryson was a very energetic “free spirit” all of his life. He wanted to be a part of everything and enjoyed life to the fullest.

Bryson loved team sports and excelled in most anything he attempted. He participated in baseball, soccer, basketball and football. He was selected for the Shrine Bowl football team in 2006.

Bryson also loved individual sports in which he could challenge himself and nature. He loved the thrill of snowboarding and wakeboarding. He welcomed the challenge of bird hunting or elk hunting with his dad, grandfather and little brother Brady.

Bryson had a big heart and generous nature. He would do anything for anyone who needed him. Bryson loved his family and was the self-designated protector and best friend to his little brother Brady.

He will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him and will live forever in our hearts.

Bryson was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ted and Loretta Herdt and Albert Wagner Jr.

Bryson is survived by his parents, Barry and Tawnya Herdt; his beloved brother Brady; his grandparents, Tom and Sandra Eller; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A viewing will be held Monday, Dec. 9, from 7-8:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 9:30-10:15 a.m.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 11 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church at Third and Bent streets in Powell.
