William Walace Zane

William Walace Zane died Nov. 12, 2013, at Powell Valley Hospital. He was 86.

He was born in Basin on Sept. 5, 1927, to John Parker Zane and Nance Winford Brown.

He graduated from Basin High School in 1948. William married his high school sweetheart, Frances Minnie Ruhl, in Billings that October.

The couple lived in Greybull until 1950, when they moved to Powell.

William worked as an electrician from 1960-2000.

He was a Jehovah’s Witness. William loved his family, and he was loyal to his friends. Most of all, he loved reading the Bible.

William was preceded in death by his wife Frances Minnie Zane, who died Oct. 23, 2005. He also was preceded in death by his parents, John Parker Zane and Nance Winford Brown Zane.

He is survived by his son Robert Lois Zane; daughter Elizabeth Anne (Zane) Murphy; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Kingdom Hall, 2702 Cougar Ave. in Cody, with Terry Marrier officiating.

A dinner will follow at the Cody Senior Center, 613 16th St. in Cody.

Arrangements are being handled by Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory.
