(Feb. 3, 1920 - Nov. 6, 2013)

Anna Francis (Muir) Nelson died quietly on Nov. 6, 2013, in Cheyenne. She was 93.

She was born Feb. 3, 1920, in Mentor, Kan., to Joseph A. and Gladys (Stephenson) Muir. She had two brothers, Joseph C. Muir and Eugene Muir, who preceded her in death, along with her parents.

For many years, she was known for volunteering at the Powell Nursing Home as a barber for men and hairdresser for women. She also participated at the Park County Fair as a judge for 4-H projects and was active in the Legion booth.

Anna and Earle loved to travel, whether it was in their motor home or abroad. Before moving to Cheyenne eight years ago, Anna spent her winter months in Texas, where she was quite involved with the Senior Park’s activities.

Byron, Bruce, Brad and Brent, So sorry to hear this! I so enjoyed knowing your mother over my lifetime. I will never forget the support she gave my mother and me when my dad was dying, and then, again to me when my mother was dying. She was a great person. My husband and I were in Cheyenne last November and stopped by to see her. We so enjoyed our visit. Now she is with your dad, and all the Heart Mountain people are probably welcoming her into their pinochle game. Love to all of you and your families.
