Roy Dean Standridge, 48, of Cody, died Sept. 12, 2013, in Cody.
Roy was born June 24, 1965, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Mary Elizabeth Standridge and Roy EuGene Jones.
Dean grew up in Coalgate, Okla., where he attended school and played football and baseball and was active in speech and drama. He graduated from Coalgate High School in 1983.
He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Dean met the love of his life, Evelyn Gailene McKinney, and they were married on June 15, 1990. They made their home in Coalgate and raised two daughters, Kyrie Aleisa and Aubrey Raye. Dean enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, and spending time with his family. His love of the outdoors led him to move his family to Wyoming in 2004.
Dean was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Hester McAusland; his paternal grandparents, Roy and Sophia Jones; his father, Gene Jones; one stepsister, Beverly (Layton) Smith; and one stepbrother, Bobby Dale Layton.
He is survived by his wife, Gail, of Cody; daughters Kyrie of Coalgate and Aubrey of Cody; parents, Wilson “Bob” and Mary Layton, of Coalgate; sisters Enessa Renteria of Austin, Texas, Barbara (Ray) Wenschel of Houston, Michelle (Neil) Birchfield of Rattan, Okla., and Tanya Jenkins of Coalgate; brothers Michael Standridge of New York and Kevin Standridge of Austin, Texas; stepbrother Eddie Layton and stepsisters Eva Layton and Kelly Low, all of Coalgate. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
