Vivian A. Farmer, 55, of Thermopolis, died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings, after a motorcycle accident in her hometown.

She was born March 25, 1958, in Thermopolis. She was the youngest of three children born to Harold and Violet (Toler) Lee. 

She graduated from Thermopolis High School in 1976. On Nov. 22, 1975, Vivian married Michael Farmer in Thermopolis. The couple lived in Casper for 10 years, California for a year, then in Powell and back to Thermopolis.

At the time of her death, Vivian had been employed as a clerk at IGA for more than 20 years. Known as a compassionate person, she greeted all with a smile, seeing the good in everyone. Many recall her as the heart of IGA. 

Vivian was a member of the First Baptist Church and enjoyed her church family. Her interests included bowling, fishing, camping, artifact hunting and the joy brought by her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold; numerous aunts and uncles and two nephews.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Mike, of Thermopolis; mother, Violet Lee of Thermopolis; daughters, Candace (Randy) Capelle of Six Mile, S.C., and Shauna Farmer, of Scappoose, Ore.; brother, Jeff (Rene) Lee of Worland; sister, Jo Argento of Powell; two grandchildren, Patricia and Jason; nieces, Krista Foster, Breann Christiansen, Kari Keller, Erin Agee, Mikki Jo Munson; and nephews, Brad Christiansen, Darin McFarland and their spouses.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at the First Baptist Church in Thermopolis with Pastor Nathan Winters officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
