Donnette Lynn Gibbs of Billings died Sunday, May 5, 2013 after a long battle with COPD. She was 65.

Donnette was born Dec. 21, 1947 in Casper to Vernon and Ruth Angen. She graduated from Powell High School in 1965 and was proud to be a Powell Panther. After graduation Doni married Larry Cloninger, and their daughter Echo was born.

In the early ‘70s Doni moved back to Billings and started her 25-year career in TV as a copywriter. During this time she won many awards including “Copywriter of the Year.” After her retirement in 1988, she wore many different “hats” including restaurant owner, bridal sales, greeting card display, and writer and she loved hosting tea parties. But most important to Doni was her role of Grandma.

Doni was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Gary.

She is survived by her daughter Echo (Troy) Jamieson; five grandchildren who were her pride and joy: Kadee, Taelar, Brook, Torie and Jesse Jamieson; sister Cherly Morris; sister-in-law Nancy (Tom) Davison; niece Heidi (Mike) McIntosh; nephews Kacey Gibbs, Colter and Chance Davison; and many cousins and friends who will miss her spirit and infectious giggle.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Powell.

Memorial donations may be made in Doni’s name to Forever Families, 1411 4th Ave. N., Billings, MT 59101.
