Fern Evelyn Olson

Fern Evelyn Olson died Wednesday, May 1, 2013. She was 92.

Evelyn was born and raised in Powell to Oscar and Verna Singer. After high school, Evelyn attended Nursing School in Billings.

In 1939 she married Charles W. Ayres; they were married for 15 years. They had two sons, Bill and Charlie, who they raised in Powell.

After Charles’ death, Evelyn worked in a doctor’s office and at a bank. In 1969 she married Harold Olson. Shortly after they married, they moved to Mesa, Ariz. She continued to work in banking there.

Upon retiring in 1981, Evelyn and Harold moved to Tigard, Ore. In her retirement, she read, traveled and was involved in St. Anthony Church. Evelyn and Harold moved to Newberg, Ore., in 2006.

She is survived by husband, Harold, children, Bill (Kathleen) and Charles, grandchildren, Mark (Moona), Bill (Diana), Kristin (Brett), Kayla and Sandy as well as seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. Francis Church in Sherwood, Ore., at a later date. Interment will be at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Powell.
