Anita Marlene Graves, 79, a longtime Worland resident, died Friday, April 26, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Anita was born in Deaver on Feb. 9, 1934 to Archie and Opal (Christensen) Sorenson. She was the oldest of her siblings. Anita graduated from high school in Deaver; this is where she met her husband William “Bill” Graves. They were later married on June 7, 1954. To this union were born four daughters, each of whom she was very proud.  Bill and Anita moved to Worland where she worked and retired from Pamida, receiving a Ruby pin for her many years of employment.

Anita was an active member of the First Baptist Church. She also enjoyed knitting, quilting and crocheting. She liked to travel and visit with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Anita had a green thumb to be desired.  

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Anita is survived by her husband, Bill; daughters: Debbie (Kenny) Measles of Worland, Tonia (Greg) Thomas of Spokane, Wash., Linda (Jack) Nielsen, Brenda (Bart) Kroger, all of Worland; 10 grandchildren: Bethany, Eric, Katie, Kevin, Shaya, Wacey, Lane, Joel, Blake and Blaine; five great-grandchildren: Tyler, Aaliyah, Ashley, Eric, Palmer and a great-granddaughter to be born in June. Survivors also include her brothers and sisters: Archie (Jean) Sorenson, Margie (Don) Heiden, Janice (Eddie) Cozzens and Tony (Gloria) Sorensen.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 2 at the Deaver Cemetery in Deaver with Pastor Scott Longwell of the First Baptist Church in Worland officiating.
