Sonya Kathleen Lindstrom died April 8, 2013. She was 79.

Sonya was born April 5, 1934. She grew up and went to school in Byron.

Sonya attended the University of Wyoming and received a degree as a medical lab technician. She was employed in Cheyenne up until the death of her father in 1966. She then moved to Powell to be a loving and devoted caretaker for her mother.

Sonya was an avid reader and was a great student of archeology, geology and anthropology. Her favorite magazine was the Smithsonian. She was very good at crafting in her spare time, which included many beautiful handmade rugs, needlepoint and crocheting. Her greatest love in life was her animals, from her favorite pony as a child to many dogs and cats she made a home for. She was a great supporter of the National Humane Society.

Sonya was preceded in death by her father Fred Lindstrom and her mother Eleanor Lindstrom. She is survived by her cousins in the Powell area: Pat Fordham, Kristie Franklin and Terry Faxon; also Dorothy Brunk of Cody and Bud Lindstrom of Sandwich, Ill.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 12 in the chapel at Thompson Funeral Home in Powell.
