Matthew David Shanahan

(March 4, 1980 - April 9, 2013)

Matthew David Shanahan, 33, of Billings, died in his sleep the morning of April 9, 2013, in his home.

Matthew was born on March 4, 1980, to Sean and Christine (Harvey) Shanahan in Powell. He attended Southside Elementary and Powell Middle School. When he was a teenager, Matthew moved to Billings and attended Billings Senior High School, where he graduated in 1999.

Matthew loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and shooting. He enjoyed spending his time with his family and friends. He dedicated a lot of his time to his family and loved his dogs. Matthew was a lover of music and computers. He dedicated his career to computers.

He suffered from medical complications relating to a ruptured appendix. Throughout his life, he battled with pain from these procedures.

Matthew touched the lives of many as a father, husband, son and friend. He is loved by many and will be greatly missed by all those he met.

He is survived by his loving wife, Susanne; children Courtney and Brayden; his father, Sean and Jennifer (Briedston) Shanahan and children, Brooke and Derek, Kat, Michelle, Alex; mother Christine (Harvey) Galindo and David Galindo; his brothers, Ryan and Sylvia (Olveda) Shanahan, David Galindo, Jr., Mathew Jean and Shanna Shanahan; his good friends, Aaron and Carrie (Attaway) Pursell, and their children. He left behind his stepmother Shanel Wilcox Shanahan and many friends, cousins and loved ones. He will be greatly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Byron and Mae Shanahan, George and Nancy Harvey,  and several great-aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at Michelotti-Sawyers, located at 1001 Alderson Ave. in Billings. The service will be followed by burial services at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park, 3605 Grand Ave.
