Helen Marie Young died March 22, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was 72.
Helen was born April 3, 1940 in Henderson, Colo., to Charles and Buelah Jones, a railroad man and a waitress who worked hard all their lives.
She met her husband and best friend, Gary, in Denver and they were married in August of 1958. They shared an “old-fashioned love” for nearly 55 years — the “till death do you part” kind of love.
Helen was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a kind and very dignified woman who lived by the motto “if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.” Helen loved long scenic drives, fishing trips, Colorado Rockies baseball, the Broncos, lunch at the center with friends and, most of all, time spent with her children and grandchildren. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved daughter, Tammy and brothers Walt and Tom.
She is survived by her husband, Gary; daughter, Julie (Jeff) Durham; son, Randy Young; grandson, Allen (Jenn) Durham; granddaughter, Shantel Durham; granddaughters Shandi and Trista Young (their mother, Lesa Young); son-in-law, Ron Meyers; granddaughter, Alisha; sister, Patty; brother, Pat; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on April 6 at 2 p.m. at the North Big Horn Senior Center in Lovell.
