Brad Lee McMillin, 48, of Powell died after a courageous battle with ALS on Friday, March 15, 2013. He was at home surrounded by his loving family.

Brad was born July 15, 1964 in Powell to Frank and Mary (Capron) McMillin. He was the oldest of five children. Brad grew up in Powell, raised on a farm and ranch.

At Powell High School he was the president of the FFA and he was on the wrestling team. Brad continued to support FFA in Powell throughout his life and was President of the FFA support group for several years. Brad also enjoyed going to the rodeos in Cody.

Brad met his wife of 30 years, Diane Sweet, in high school and they were married on Dec. 18, 1982 in Powell. Shortly thereafter, they started a family in Powell and were blessed with two children, a son and daughter. Brad was a lineman at heart and started his career at Clay’s Electric. He enjoyed his years at Rocky Mountain Power and was more than passionate about safety administration.

He was an avid huntsman, fly fisherman, a diehard Green Bay Packers and NASCAR fan and most of all enjoyed spoiling his five grandsons. Brad enjoyed spending as much time as he could at the cabin up on his dad’s land on Trailcreek. Brad brought laughter in all situations and everyone will greatly miss his sense of humor.

Brad is survived by his wife, Diane (Sweet) McMillin of Powell; his son, Michael (Julie) McMillin and daughter, Melanie McMillin (Jeffrey) Matthews; his parents Frank and Mary McMillin; sisters Dana McMillin (Donnie) Gillett and Stacey McMillin (Jim) Cannon; brothers Justin (Debbie) McMillin and K.C. (Kelly) McMillin; five grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, at New Life Church in Powell.

Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and condolences may be sent to the family at www.thompsonfuneral.net or P.O. Box 807, Powell, WY 82435.
