Robert E. ‘Bob’ George

Robert E. “Bob” George died Feb. 8, 2013 at his home in North Hills, Calif. He was 82.

Bob was born Sept. 6, 1930 in Billings to Vernon and Helen George. He graduated from Powell High School in 1948.

Bob worked at Safeway Grocery during high school and after graduation. He was in the Naval Air Force during the Korean War.

Bob married Margorie Gahagan in May 1954. They moved to Milwaukee, Wisc., where Bob attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

They moved to California, where Bob worked at Lockheed Aircraft for several years. He then was part owner of an electronic company, “Priority No. 1.”

He coached and helped with youth baseball for many years. Bob loved to play golf, go dancing, and he was a true, blue Dodger fan.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving Bob is his wife, Margorie; daughter Jennifer George of Carbondale, Colo.; son Tom (Lisa) George of LaVern, Calif.; granddaughters Marissa and Tessa George; two sisters, Sharon Studen of Broomfield, Colo., and Donna Franklin of Powell; two brothers, Lyle George of Ballantine, Mont., and Larry George of Billings; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 15 at Utter McKinley San Fernando Mission Mortuary. Interment at Oakwood Memorial Park in Chatsworth, Calif., followed with military honors.
