A dear and beloved mother, Frances Simmon Prodavis Jenkins died peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013 in Powell, surrounded by her loving family. She was 99.

Frances was born in Harbin, China on July 13, 1913, to parents of Russian descent.

Frances was a woman who exemplified the human spirit. She had a very deep reverence and passion for nature and all of life. Everything she did, she did with unconditional love.

Frances had a brilliant mind, very dry humor and a quick smile. She loved flowers and for a good part of her life had floral and vegetable gardens. In her youth, she owned a beauty shop and later worked in real estate.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Jenkins and her sister, Nadia Simone Prodavis Erickson.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Donna Joy Jenkins of Okanogan, Wash.; her son Arnold D. (Ila Jean) Jenkins of Powell; her three grandchildren, Tessa M. (Jack) McDonald of Billings, Kimberly J. (Josh) Sapp of Powell and Neil A. Jenkins of Basin; and four great-grandchildren.
