Marvin C. Gimmeson, 74, of Casper, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013 at the Shepherd of the Valley Care Center in Casper.

Marvin was born Sept. 12, 1938 in Powell to Williard Gimmeson and Margaret McPherson Gimmeson. He attended elementary, junior high and high school in Powell where he enjoyed participating on the PHS football and basketball teams. He also attended two years of college at Northwest College.

Marvin served in the United States Army from 1958-62. During this time, he married his first wife, Donna Roper, on Aug. 13, 1959. To this union, three daughters were born.

Before his retirement in 1996, Marvin was employed as a tool specialist for Baker Tools. Outside of work, he enjoyed chariot racing, team roping and a good game of darts.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Sharon Chappell and his second wife, Elvira Stephania Gimmeson.

He is survived by his daughters Cathy (Keith) Warne of Rock Springs, Cindy (Tim) Bjornestad of Powell, Marla Allphin of Hardin, Mont., 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Thompson Funeral Home on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Memorial donations can be made to Shepherd of the Valley Care Center in Casper.
