Mitchial ‘Mick’ LeRoy Lange

Mitchial Lange, formerly of Byron, died on Jan. 4, 2013 from complications related to diabetes in the Logan Regional Hospital in Logan, Utah. He was 69.

Mick was born in Powell on June 18, 1943 to William and June Lange. He grew up in Powell where he attended high school and junior college. He moved to Utah in 1963 to attend Brigham Young University where he graduated with a degree in art education in 1966.

Mick married Judy Lofgren on Sept. 3, 1965 in the Salt Lake City Latter-day Saints temple. They lived in the Salt Lake City area for 10 years and then moved to Byron, just 15 miles from where he was raised, to begin a teaching career which lasted for 26 years. They lived in Byron for more than 30 years raising seven children.

After their children were raised and their health began to decline, Mick and Judy moved to Logan, Utah. Judy died in 2008.

Mick married Debbie Howard in Logan on July 30, 2009; they were sealed in the Logan temple on Sept. 5, 2010.

Mick was a talented artist, a vocal and creative crooner, and enjoyed fishing, bowling, old cars and collecting.

He is survived by his wife of three years Debbie Lange; children Michael (Vanessa) Lange of Bountiful, Utah, Bret (Alana) Lange of Nibley, Utah, Wendy (Jeff) Fox of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jill (Guy) Stones of Syracuse, Utah, Cory (Liz) Lange of Heber, Utah, Andrew (Annalise) Lange of Sierra Vista, Ariz. and Jason (…coming soon?) Lange of North Salt Lake City, Utah.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at noon at the Logan 11th Ward Chapel (100 E. 200 S., Logan, UT 84321). A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home in Logan (162 E. 400 N., Logan, UT 84321) and from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the chapel the day of the service.

Interment will take place at Logan City Cemetery.
