Donna Humphreys Flitcraft died in her home Monday, Nov. 12 in Anderson, Calif. She was 71.

Donna June Humphreys, the daughter of Monzie and Bernice Humphreys, was born on June 10, 1941 in Lusk. Her first six years were spent in Lance Creek. She was the youngest of six children. One of her older sisters was Mazie Nay of Powell.

The Humphreys family moved to Powell in 1947 and Donna graduated from Powell High School in 1959. Because of age and close family ties, Ron and Sherry Nay considered her to be more a sister than an aunt. This is also true of her niece Dianne Hoagland of Glendive, Mont.

After graduation, Donna became a telephone operator in Powell. She transferred to Sacramento, Calif. in 1960, living close to her other older sister, Beulah Foley.

In 1964, Donna married Richard Flitcraft. They subsequently moved to the Canyon Country area in southern California where Donna spent most of her adult life, continuing to work as a telephone operator. Two daughters, Deena and Darla, were born to Donna and Richard. The couple divorced in 1988.

She moved to Anderson, Calif. in 2009 to be close to her daughter

Donna’s hobbies were traveling, gardening and reading. She took great pleasure in her children and grandchildren. All who knew her were well aware of her tremendous sense of humor and wit. Her short humorous quips were constant entertainment for those around her.

Donna is survived by her daughters Deena Chism and Darla Gragas; six grandchildren Kayla, Rebecca and Amy Gragas and Tara, Justin and Alyssa Chism. In addition to the above mentioned nieces and nephews, Donna is survived by nephews Terry Foley, Dusty Humphreys and Danny Humphreys, as well as her cousin Betty Jean Andrews.

Funeral services are pending.
