D. Lawrence “Larry” Orendorff died Sept. 11, 2012 in Apopka, Fla. He was 62.

Larry was born in Ponca City, Okla., Aug. 26, 1950 to SinClair and Mary K. Orendorff. The family moved to Casper, Wyo., in 1962, and to Powell in 1967.

Following high school, Larry attended and received a diploma in Diesel Mechanics from Wyoming Technical School in Laramie. After several years of practicing mechanics, he decided to earn a college degree and graduated from the University of Idaho as a mechanical engineer. He was immediately hired by Chicago Bridge and Iron in Houston, Texas.

Larry had a great sense of humor, most often at his own expense. He had much compassion and consideration for others and he expected those who were employed under his leadership to treat fellow colleagues similarly.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Mary K. Orendorff.

He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Elizabeth (Libby), a Master Degree nurse who gave uninterrupted attention to Larry during his struggle with cancer; his father and stepmother, SinClair and Helen Orendorff; siblings Jeannine (Larry) Cozzens, David (Vickie) Orendorff, Michael (Melinda) Orendorff, Candace (Tom) Horton, and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Private services were held in Florida.
