Anna Marie Hilzendeger died March 31 at Powell Valley Care Center.
She was born April 25, 1938 in Manning, N.D., the daughter of Catherine C. (Bosch) and Nicholas R. Heiser.
Her family moved to Powell from North Dakota in 1954. She quit school during her first year of high school due to the needs of her family.
She married Kasper W. Hilzendeger on Aug. 22, 1957. She was a housewife for the next 20-plus years.
Anna Marie was a member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church in Powell, and her daily scripture readings and devotions were a significant part of her life. She enjoyed her acre of land on the Willwood and looked forward to the visits of birds and deer. During her healthier years, she grew strawberries and vegetables.
She is survived by a son, Rick (MaraLee) Hilzendeger of Thermopolis; daughters, Bernadine (Mark) Hubbard of Marion, Mont., Kathy (Jim) Nielsen of Spring, Texas, and Tara Hilzendeger of Cody; brothers, Nick (Connie) Heiser, Jr. and Dick (Janine) Heiser; sisters, Jo Hayner, Loret (Woody) Woodward and Lori Weible and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Curtis, her parents and Mr. Hilzendeger.
Cremation has taken place and the family will hold a private service at a later date. Memorials may be sent to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Arrangements are being handled by Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory.
