Maxine LaVerne Shanor - Nov. 1
Funeral services for former resident Maxine LaVerne Shanor, 82, were conducted Nov. 5 at the LDS Church Four-Mile Building in Cheyenne.
Mrs. Shanor, the wife of former Powell High School principal Donald Shanor, died Nov. 1 at United Medical Center West in Cheyenne. Mr. Shanor died in 1985.
She was born May 1, 1922, in Burlington, daughter of Florence (Della) and Ira McIntosh. She had lived in Cheyenne for 41 years.
She was a music teacher for Laramie County School District No. 1.
A member of Buffalo Ridge Ward of the LDS Church, she loved watching her children and grandchildren participate in sporting and musical events.
Survivors include her three sons, Craig Shanor Casper and Roger and Tom Shanor, both of Thermopolis; two daughters, Suzy Quinn and Sandy Bailey, both of Cheyenne; eight siblings, Trudy Vogelsberg of Orem, Utah, Bus McIntosh of Powell, Gordon McIntosh of Salt Lake City, Duane McIntosh of Ventura, Calif., Ira McIntosh of St. George, Utah, Robert McIntosh of Burlington, Howard McIntosh of Magagna, Utah, and Eleanor Bates of Burlington; 19 grandchildren and nine great-granchildren.
Memorials may be made to East High School Music Dept.
Funeral services for Kenny J. Hough, 22, Lovell, who died Sunday, Nov. 7 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident east of Powell, will be conducted today (Thursday) at 1 p.m. at the LDS Church in Lovell.
Graveside services will be at the Lovell Cemetery, under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home.
He was born June 13, 1982, in Casper. He lived most of his life in Lovell with his mom and dad, Mike and Audrey Bay.
Kenny loved his horses and lived for his Broncos. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with his dad and living life to the fullest each day.
He joined the U.S. Navy in October, 2000 and served his country aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Abraham Lincoln, out of Everett, Wash. He served 10 months overseas in the Persian Gulf in Operation Enduring Freedom, the war in Iraq. He returned home after being honorably discharged on Oct. 29, 2004, having achieved the rank as petty officer.
He was employed by his mom at the 4 Corners Bar in Lovell and planned to move to Nevada to start a new life.
Survivors include his parents, Mike and Audrey Bay of Lovell; adopted sister, Angie Spann of Lovell; grandmother and grandfather, Ken and Virginia Bowen of Casper; Grandpa Lloyd Adams of Van Tassel; grandmother Lorina Bay of Hurricane, Utah; father and stepmother, David and Nancy Hough and half-brother and sister, Nicole and Steven Hough of Cody; a very close friend, Cristant Bremer of Everett, Wash.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Great-grandfather Overman; a cousin, Brian Ladwig; Grandmother Mary Adams; Grandfather Bay; Grandfather Hough; and Great Aunt Ethel.
Graveside services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12 at Crown Hill Cemetery for Aileen Gale Wilcox, 83, Powell, who died Monday, Nov. 8 at Powell Valley Care Center.
She was born Feb. 5, 1921, in St. Joseph, Mo., daughter of Roy Harrison and Bessie Gale (Crouse) Stapp. During her early years, she lived with her parents in Orfino, Nebr., then moved with her family to Cozad, Nebr., until 1937. The family then moved to California, and she graduated from high school there.
She met and married Harvey R. Wilcox in Kansas. They lived in Cozad, Nebr., until moving to Wyoming in 1948. They settled in Cody and lived there moving to Powell in 1967.
In Cody, she was employed by Husky Oil Company until her retirement. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary and Eastern Star.
She enjoyed many hobbies such as crocheting, rug hooking and ceramics. She loved to go fishing and camping and loved to be around her children, grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Rolanda (Lanny) Mees and husband Kenney of Powell and Vickie Sanders of Thermoplis; two brothers, Roy Stapp of Mountain Home, Ark., and Raymond Stapp of Cozad, Nebr.; one sister, Violet Power of Cody; four grandchildren, Travis Sanders, Dawn Bazzell, Danyle Sanders and Trinity Edwards; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; her parents; a brother, Kenneth; two sons-in-law, Les Andrews and Virgil Sanders Jr.; and two grandsons, Jeff and Scott Andrews.
Visitations will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today (Thursday, Nov. 11) at Ballard Funeral Home in Cody.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 11 a.m. at the Miratsky-Easton Funeral Home for James Dwight (Bud) Bunch, 79, who died Saturday, Nov. 13 at his home, surrounded by his children.
He was born in Duncan, Okla., on July 25, 1925, son of Luther and Mary (Hauber) Bunch. He was raised there and graduated from Duncan High School in 1943. He had one brother, Billy.
Immediately upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy in June of 1943 and was assigned to the USS Hopewell DD681 destroyer, serving in World War II in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged with honors in 1946.
He married Marie Heflin in August of 1950 in Reno, Nev. They moved to Powell to make their home. The couple was blessed with two sons, James (Jimmy) and William (Bill), and one daughter, Shelby Jean.
On Aug. 30, 1970, he married Cheryl Burch in Las Vegas, Nev. They also made their home in Powell with a daughter, Sherina.
He worked at the Amoco plant in Elk Basin for 30 years and retired in 1980. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Elks and Disabled American Veterans. His name is on the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.
He enjoyed time on the North Fork of the Shoshone River in his motor home each summer with his little dog, Missy. He met many of his best friends, camping in the mountains. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time outdoors, camping and gardening. He built a special room in his home to display his trophies and photographs.
Survivors include three children, Bill (Debbie) Bunch of Jackson, Jim Bunch of Jackson, and Sherina (Shawn) Eissler of Billings, Mont.; five grandchildren, Brandi (Matthew) Dombrovski, Tyson (Sarah) Bunch, Levi and Casey Coffey and Garrett Eissler; and four beautiful great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Grace, Abigail and Sophia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Billy; his spouses, Marie and Cheryl; and his daughter, Shelby Jean.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Powell, with military rites by the Powell Veterans Honor Guard. Viewing will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today (Tuesday) and for one hour prior to services.

Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Jo Rossi, 68, of Hudson, was celebrated Monday, Nov. 15 at the Church of the Ascension in Hudson, followed by burial in the Hudson Cemetery.
She died Wednesday, Nov. 10 at Riverton Memorial Hospital.
She was born Mary Jo Brady on Nov. 13, 1935, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Leo L. and Martha O. (Leeds) Brady.
She married Mario F. Rossi March 29, 1954, in Billings, Mont. They made their home in Hudson where they raised their seven daughters.
She was active in the Church of the Ascension Catholic Church in Hudson. She sang in the church choir and belonged to St. Theresa's Altar and Rosary Society. She and her husband donated many hours to painting the outside of the church, and they were also instrumental in the addition of Newman Hall.
She worked for Svilar's and for Jack and Charlotte Majdic at the cartwheel factory in Hudson. Following her husband's death, she operated Big Red's Cafe in Hudson for a couple of years.
The family described her as a humble person who guided her daughters toward adulthood in a strict, but loving way.
Survivors include her daughters, Rose Stanbury and husband Joe of Riverton, Laura Richardson of Powell, Dianna Cliame of Riverton, Carla Rossi of Denver, Colo., Ann M. Rossi-Woolworth and husband Tom of Roswell, N.M., and Celestina Rossi of Houston, Texas; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a sister, Rowena Harlander and husband Les of Nevada; brothers, Charles Brady and wife Lorriane of Los Angeles, Calif., and Terrance Brady of Cheyenne; numerous nieces and nephews, and her companion, Bill Romine.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Leo Brady; a sister, Virginia Pursel; husband Mario in 1981; and eldest daughter, Margo Kunze in November of 1994.

Funeral Mass for Claire M. Smith, 87, who died peacefully at her home in Powell on Sunday, Nov. 21, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 26 at St. Barbara's Catholic Church.
Father Pete Johnson will officiate at services and burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation and rosary are set Thursday, Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. at Miratsky-Easton Funeral Home.
She was born Claire M. Nielsen on March 16, 1917, in Powell to homesteaders Niels and Emma Nielsen. She graduated from Powell High School and married Gerald L. Smith in Powell in 1935.
She was very talented in porcelain dollmaking, china painting, quilting, rug hooking and many other aspects of handwork. Working in her flower garden was a favorite pastime.
She was an active member of the Council of Catholic Women and the Business and Professional Women's organization and worked at the ASCS office in Powell for 30 years. She served as a Silver Haired Legislator for several years.
Survivors include her brother, Norman Nielsen of Ralston; sisters Elsie Hawley and Edna Caslick, both of Powell, and Emma Morris of Bellevue, Wash.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers.

Michelle Marie Schwab - Nov. 22
Funeral services for Michelle Marie Schwab, 48, who died peacefully in her Las Vegas, Nev., home on Nov. 22, were conducted Saturday, Nov. 27 at Hope Lutheran Church in Powell.
Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery.
She was born Sept. 7, 1956, to James and Carlene Murphy in Powell. She graduated from Powell High School in 1974. She then went to Northwest College for two years before transferring to Carroll College in Helena, Mont., where she graduated in 1979 with a bachelor's degree in nursing.
She moved back to Powell where she worked at Powell Hospital for 20 years as a registered nurse in the OB department.
In 1988, she met and fell in love with Mike Schwab. They were married Jan. 27, 1990, and combined two families into one, living south of Powell. While in Powell, she loved to go camping and fishing, Michelle also loved being involved with the USA wrestling program and 4-H.
In 2002, Michelle moved to LasVegas with Mike in search of better medical treatment for her multiple sclerosis. In Las Vegas, she loved to go shopping and eat out at different dining establishments, as well as making trips to California. A few highlights for her were dropping quarters into video poker machines and plahing with her grandson.
Survivors inlcude her husband, Mike Schwab; her sons, Michael and Stephen Schwab; her daughter, Jessica and husband Alberto and grandson Xavier Medina; her mother, Carlene Murphy of Powell; Jim and Lisa Murphy, Annette and Tay; nephew Matt Dillon, Randy and Kristie Murphy
She was preceded in death by her father, James Murphy, her sister, Debbie, and her brother, William Joseph.
For anyone wishing to make donations, the family is setting up a scholarship in Michelle's name at the Northwest College nursing school.
Reva Baird Bennion passed away in Powell, Wyoming on Wednesday, November 24, 2004. Reva was born in Cowley, Wyoming on March 25, 1920 to Daniel Cumming Baird and Ona Lucinda Nebel Baird, the third of eight children. After graduating from Cowley High School she attended the University of Wyoming where she majored in elementary education. Upon completing her education, she served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northeastern States Mission and then returned to Cowley to teach elementary school.
In 1945, while spending the summer with her sister in Georgia, Reva met Wayne Harvey Bennion who was serving in the Army and was stationed at Robbins Field. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 10, 1945. Following their marriage, they lived in Bennion, Utah for a short time and then moved to Cowley where they resided until they moved to Powell in 1995. During this time, six children were born to the Bennions. Reva, who quit teaching school to raise her children, enjoyed using her talent for teaching in her family and was very committed to teaching her children at an early age. She and Wayne provided a loving and happy environment for their children. Reva always loved being with her family and took personal interest in each child and grandchild as her family grew. Her family was her greatest work and her greatest hobby. She also enjoyed doing beautiful embroidery work, reading and cooking. She was especially known for her excellent homemade bread.
Reva was a devoted wife and mother, a faithful friend and a diligent church member. She has always been an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and has served willingly in many callings, including ward Young Women President and Relief Society President in both the ward and stake. In 1988 she was again called to serve a mission for the Church, in Bacolad, Philippines for 18 months. This time she and Wayne served together. They found much joy in their service and came to love the people they served.
Reva is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, two brothers, Floyd, and Melvin and by two sisters, Toynette and Marguerite and by a baby daughter. She is survived by a daughter, Linda and Robert Andros, Sterling, VA, and four sons, John and Margaret Bennion, Billings, MT, Dan and Lynn Bennion, Powell, WY, Doug and Cindy Bennion, Billings, MT, and Mike and Sarah Bennion, Oxford, MI, 36 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Wilma and Dave Fisher, Pocatello, ID, Laura Mae and Gwynn Dickson, Edgewood, WA, and one brother, Robert and Ann Baird, Lovell, WY.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday at 11:00 am in the Cowley LDS chapel. Interment was in the Cowley Cemetery.
Orin LaVern Muller, 69, died suddenly in Red Lodge, Mont., on Friday, Nov . 26.
He was born Aug.17, 1935 in Frannie to Arthur Wilhelm and Hallie Opal (McCollum) Muller. He was a graduate of the University of Wyoming and a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He married Sherron Christensen on Aug. 20, 1956, in Cowley. Together they had two daughters and a son.
Orin's life was devoted to family and Muller Trucking and Dirt Contracting, a company his father started in 1933. He was actively involved with the family business from the time he graduated from college until his retirement. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He spent many enjoyable hours fishing with his grandchildren. Orin always said that he wanted his family and friends to celebrate his life rather than be sad because his life here was finished.
He is survived by Sherron (Christensen) Muller, his wife of 48 years; daughter Troy An (Paul) Wambeke of Cowley; daughter Tamra DeCock, of White Sulphur Springs, Mont..; son, Reid Muller, of Denver; sister Arla Sessions of Orem, Utah, and brother Dennis Muller of Greybull. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Craig Muller.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 5p.m. at Dahl Funeral Chapel in Red Lodge. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 1 at 1 p.m., also at Dahl Funeral Chapel, Red Lodge. Cremation will take place following the services.
Former Heart Mountain homesteader Lela Enola Wade died peacefully at Pioneer Manor in Gillette on Tuesday, Nov. 30 at the age of 90. She was born Lela Enola Linderman near Scotia, Nebr., daughter of Fred and Ethel Linderman. She was the second oldest of ten children. She married Howard Oral Wade in 1938 in Montana. In 1942, they were blessed with their first son, Wayne Franklin Wade, and four years later they moved to a homestead on Heart Mountain between Powell and Cody. After arriving at Heart Mountain, they had their second son, Dean Hal Wade, who died shortly after birth. When son Wayne graduated from Powell High School and entered the U.S. Navy, the Lindermans sold the homestead and lived in several different Wyoming towns the rest of their lives. Family will remember Lela as the kind of person who always had time to smell the flowers and to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. She was a faithful follower of her personal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She always took great pride in her flower gardens, friends, family and most of all, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Wayne Wade and wife Janet of Green River, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and seven sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard Oral Wade; her son, Dean Hal Wade; a brother and a sister. She was laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery, Powell, Friday, Dec. 3 by her loving family and friends.
