Three members of High On Life, a Canadian group of filmmakers, will pay fines and serve five years of probation for various misdeeds in Yellowstone and other national parks; two of them will also serve a week in jail. All three are banned from national parks and public lands in the United States for five years.

On June 4th, 1957, in Bertha, Minnesota, a chubby-cheeked, blue-eyed baby boy was born to Ralph and Rosella (Scott) Warren. They named him Randy Lee.

Emily Blevins, wife and loving companion to Ron Blevins, passed away peacefully at her home in Powell on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017. She was 76.

Ronald G. Frank, 76, died peacefully in his sleep Jan. 9, 2017, at his home in Ft. Collins, Colorado.


It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of Roy Phillip Snell on Dec. 27, 2016. Roy was born in Byron in 1931, the fifth son of LeRoy and Bessie Snell.

Joyce Shelby died peacefully after a long illness on Jan. 6, 2017, in Bozeman, Montana, surrounded by her loving family, daughter Jane, two granddaughters, their partners and three great-grandchildren. She was 88.

Johnavieve Hamilton died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at Spirit Mountain Hospice House in Cody. She was 97.

Vernice Myers, 92, of Cody, died at West Park Hospital on Jan. 5, 2017.

Funeral services will be at Christ Episcopal Church in Cody on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017 at 2 p.m.
