9:13 p.m. It's (unoffically) over. Rep. Dave Blevins and Park County Clerk Jerri Torczon are headed out of office. Dan Laursen is the Republican nominee for HD 25, winning 1,062 votes to 869. Colleen Renner becomes the Republican nominee for clerk, picking up 2,836 votes to Torczon's 2,525 and Tod Larson's 1,413 votes. The rest of the incumbents held on, including Rep. David Northrup (1,416 votes) over challenger Charles Cloud (906 votes) in HD 50.

More details in a minute.

8:54 p.m. With now 23 of the 29 precincts in the books, it looks like the only incumbents in jeopardy are Clerk Jerri Torczon -- who appears almost certain to have lost to challenger Colleen Renner -- and Rep. Dave Blevins in House District 25. Dan Laursen leads Blevins by 62 votes -- or 22 more than he did in early returns. That's basically the only local race that appears to still be in question.

House District 50
David Northrup - 1,299 (56.65%)
Charles Cloud -  864 (37.68%)

House District 25
Dan Laursen - 593 (49.87%)
Dave Blevins - 531 (44.66%)

House District 24
Sam Krone - 1,487 (62.61)
Bob Berry - 783 (32.97%)

COMMISSION

Joe Tilden - 3,114 (16.95%)
Loren Grosskopf - 3,093 (16.83.24%)
Tim French - 2,809 (15.29%)
Dave Burke - 2,421 (13.18%)
Pat Slater - 1,172 (6.38%)
Jo Walker - 864 (4.70%)
Donna Guelde - 812 (4.42%)
Gina Sowerwine - 631 (3.43%)

CLERK
Colleen Renner - 2,530 (41.31%)
Jerri Torczon - 1,986 (32.42%)
Tod Larson - 1,224 (19.98%)

SHERIFF
Scott Steward - 3,241 (52.91%)
Bruce Olson - 2,109 (34.43%)
Roger Dunn -  623 (10.17%)

8:53 p.m. Now 19 of 29 precincts are in with Powell and Garland ballots still out there (just barely arrived at the courthouse). Cody, South Fork, Wapiti Clark and Meetetse are in. What we know: Sheriff Scott Steward appears to have this thing locked down, as do incumbent commissioners Joe Tilden and Loren Grosskopf. Commissioenr Tim French, who had been trailed closely by challenger Dave Burke for the third commission seat, now is up by 450 votes. Colleen Renner now leads Jerri Torczon by some 641 votes. I think that race is over. Rep. David Northrup fo the Willwood also looks good, as it's unlikely that the Powell area went more for challenger Charles Cloud of Cody.

We'll have to wait for the Powell results to see about House District 25 between Rep. Dave Blevins and challenger Dan Laursen (Laursen has an early 40-vote lead).

House District 50
David Northrup - 1,299 (56.65%)
Charles Cloud -  864 (37.68%)

House District 25
Dan Laursen - 205 (52.03%)
Dave Blevins - 165 (41.88%)

House District 24
Sam Krone - 1,487 (62.61)
Bob Berry - 783 (32.97%)

COMMISSION

Joe Tilden - 2,863 (17.9%)
Loren Grosskopf - 2,757 (17.24%)
Tim French - 2,462 (15.4%)
Dave Burke - 2,018 (12.62%)
Pat Slater - 828 (5.18%)
Jo Walker - 753 (4.71%)
Donna Guelde - 745 (4.66%)
Gina Sowerwine - 560 (3.50%)

CLERK
Colleen Renner - 2,286 (42.89%)
Jerri Torczon - 1,645 (30.86%)
Tod Larson - 1,062 (19.92%)

SHERIFF
Scott Steward - 3,017 (56.6%)
Bruce Olson - 1,764 (33.1%)
Roger Dunn - 413 (7.75%)

8:42 p.m. While we've got a quick break, I'll add that it appears Park County went for Gov. Matt Mead (55% versus 32.06% for Taylor Haynes and 10.91% for Cindy Hill), Superintendent of Public Instruction candidate Jillian Balow (37.6% versus 27% for Sheryl Lain and 17.6% for Bill Winney) and Secretary of State candidate Ed Buchanan (32.08% versus 28.86% for Ed Murray, 15.68% for Pete Illoway and 8.71% fro Clark Stith). But we've still got about half of the precincts still out there.

8:32 p.m. Five more precincts are in: none affecting Blevins-Laursen who so far are separated by 40 votes. So what did happen? Sheriff Scott Steward continues to cruise toward victory, as does Rep. Sam Krone and commissioners Loren Grosskopf and Joe Tilden. Tim French has opened up some breathing room, now being 400 votes up on Dave Burke. Rep. David Northrup is up on Charles Cloud by around 450 votes. Challenger Colleen Renner now leads Clerk Jerri Torczon by more than 500 votes (with Tod Larson well behind). That will be awfully tough for Torczon to overcome, even if Powell goes her way.

House District 50
David Northrup - 850 (55.45%)
Charles Cloud -  593 (38.68%)

House District 25
Dan Laursen - 205 (52.03%)
Dave Blevins - 165 (41.88%)

House District 24
Sam Krone - 1,391 (64.04)
Bob Berry - 688 (31.68%)

COMMISSION

Joe Tilden - 2,637 (17.93%)
Loren Grosskopf - 2,568 (17.46%)
Tim French - 2,260 (15.36%)
Dave Burke - 1,868 (12.70%)
Pat Slater - 790 (5.37%)
Jo Walker - 691 (4.7%)
Donna Guelde - 653 (4.44%)
Gina Sowerwine - 502 (3.41%)

CLERK
Colleen Renner - 2,093 (42.69%)
Jerri Torczon - 1,530 (31.21%)
Tod Larson - 975 (19.89%)

SHERIFF
Scott Steward - 2,793 (56.97%)
Bruce Olson - 1,589 (32.41%)
Roger Dunn - 393 (8.02%)

8:15 p.m. No new results for the Laursen-Blevins race with this update, but Rep. David Northrup's lead over Charles Cloud has stayed steady and so has Collen Renner's over Clerk Jerri Torczon. It looks like Loren Grosskopf and Joe Tilden are safe on the commission, but we'll have to see how Powell voted to determine if Tim French has held off Dave Burke. Sheriff Scott Steward appears to have this election in hand, as does Rep. Sam Krone over challenger Bob Berry.

House District 50
David Northrup - 850 (55.45%)
Charles Cloud -  593 (38.68%)

House District 25
Dan Laursen - 205 (52.03%)
Dave Blevins - 165 (41.88%)

House District 24
Sam Krone - 1,189 (66.4)
Bob Berry - 528 (29.5%)

COMMISSION
Loren Grosskopf - 2,034(18.02%)
Joe Tilden - 2,025 (17.94%)
Tim French - 1,663 (14.73%)
Dave Burke - 1,469 (13.01%)
Pat Slater - 562 (4.98%)
Donna Guelde - 528 (4.76%)
Jo Walker - 516 (4.59%)
Gina Sowerwine - 402 (3.56%)

CLERK
Colleen Renner - 1,642 (43.64%)
Jerri Torczon - 1,156 (30.72%)
Tod Larson - 738 (19.61%)

SHERIFF
Scott Steward - 2,186 (58.09%)
Bruce Olson - 1,216 (32.31%)
Roger Dunn - 255 (6.78%)

8:10 p.m. Big update coming - 10 of the 29 precincts. I should mention that you can find all the results at www.parkcountyelections.us.

8:05 p.m. With six precincts now in, Krone still leads Berry by a lot (more than 2:1), Northrup leads Cloud by 140 votes and Laursen leads Blevins by 40 votes (but 11 percent). Steward looks just as strong as before, while Torczon now trails Renner by around 250 ballots. A breakdown in a minute.

8 p.m. Now with 5 of the 29 precincts in (and absentees), Reps. Northrup and Krone continue to lead while Rep. Blevins trails Dan Laursen. Colleen Renner is leading Clerk Jerri Torczon. The three incumbent commissioners are looking good, with Dave Burke running a close fourth. The other six candidates are looking like also-rans at this point. Sheriff Scott has a big lead on his two opponents.

Jerri Torczon - 710 (34.45%)
Tod Larson - 366 (17.76%)

7:49 p.m. Here are the results from two precincts: as I understand it, it reflects results from two small precincts in the Cody area AND absentee ballots.

Early on, it looks good for Rep. David Northrup, Rep. Sam Krone and good for challenger Dan Laursen (or, bad for Rep. Dave Blevins). It also looks good for some county incumbents (Sheriff Scott Steward, Commissioners Tim French, Loren Grosskpof and Joe Tilden) and clerk challenger Colleen Renner (with an early lead over Jerri Torczon). A breakdown in just a second.

7:34 p.m. Good evening from the Park County Courthouse! The first of the ballots, from the city of Cody, are arriving as I type this. I'll have results from the first two precincts in just a minute.

If you're wondering when results have come in during the last few elections, here's a chart:

Youth movement fuels trapper men

Written by Joe Alberico

Freshmen-heavy Trappers could be key to NWC success

While discussing the season outlook of their soccer team Friday, the smiles on the faces of Erik Wehse and Omar Garcia never faded.

And if the Northwest College men’s soccer team is as successful as the two sophomore captains are predicting, the Trappers may be smiling all season long.

Jim Stringer coached football and wrestling, but a group of softball players plan to honor him this fall.

Greg Benander never smoked, and he drank only occasionally. He thought he was living a healthy lifestyle.

But that didn’t prevent the clogged artery that caused his heart attack on Nov. 1, 2010, at the age of 52.
