Curtis also recorded a third place in the 200 freestyle, and all three relay teams earned third-place points for the Lady Panthers.

Maddy Jones swam to a fourth place finish in the butterfly and a fifth in the individual medley. Alice Pinter earned a fifth place in the 50 and diver Stepfanie Thompson finished sixth.

Joining Monique Zorgati as a seventh place finisher were Belen Quillen in the 500 and Alyssa Smith in the backstroke. Quillen also earned ninth place in the 500 and Smith finished 12th in the 200.

Eighth-place finishers included Brittany Christensen in the butterfly, Claire Wetzel in the 500 and Courtney Zorgati in the breaststroke. Zorgati added a 10th place in the 100.

Jessica Wurzel, Anya Tracy, Kourtnie Rodgers and Jenna Hotovec all recorded two top-12 finishes. Wurzel finished ninth in the 500 and 11th in the 200. Tracy was ninth in the backstroke and 10th in the individual medley, and Rodgers was ninth in the breaststroke and 11th in the individual medley. Hotovec recorded 12th place finishes in the breaststroke and the individual medley.

Other 12th place finishes were recorded by Lori Hetzel in the butterfly, Sierra Baker in the 100 and diver Emily Newlin.

Coach Luke Robertson added that Wurzel had received an award for sportsmanship during the meet.

There were no new state qualifiers during the meet, according to coach Luke Robertson, but three swimmers are very close to qualifying times and still have a good shot at swimming at state.

“Some of the team has been tapering (their workouts) to rest and try to qualify this week,” Robertson said.
