Should Powell emerge victorious in it's game Thursday, it will advance to a 7 p.m. semifinal game Friday at 7 p.m. Should Powell (31-17) lose its opening game, it will drop into the losers' bracket contest at 10 a.m. Friday to face the loser of the first-round, Jackson-Lovell contest.
“We entered the season with several goals,” Coach Young said. “Because we knew coming in that we had a young team, one of those goals was to get better each week and each month. Another goal was to be hitting our stride in time for the district tournament. We've been playing pretty well lately, and we feel like we're sitting in pretty good shape going into it. We need to get that win that will get us to state. If we can take care of that and get it out of the way, then we'll see how high we can finish at the district tournament.”
