Two Powell men killed in separate Montana crashes

Posted

Two men with ties to Powell were killed in car crashes in Montana this week.

On Monday, 23-year-old Wesley Johnson of Powell died in a head-on crash on U.S. Highway 310 near Bridger.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, a northbound Chevy Malibu driven by a 66-year-old man from Mercer Island, Washington, crossed into the southbound lane near Bridger and collided head-on with a Pontiac driven by a 29-year-old man from Powell at about 3 p.m. Monday.

A 67-year-old Mercer Island woman in the Malibu also was killed.

The drivers of the Pontiac and Malibu were taken to the hospital in Red Lodge for treatment. In addition, a 32-year-old Seattle woman in the Malibu was critically injured and taken to a Billings hospital.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.

In a separate accident over the weekend, Powell resident Anthony Joseph Goswick, 26, died at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday when his vehicle went off U.S. Highway 310 near Fromberg and struck a large tree.

Officials in south-central Montana say Goswick had been living in Powell, and his driver’s license indicated he was from Lehigh Acres, Florida.
